Bandwidth Capacity Support

The main objective is to avail quality and affordable bandwidth to the Digital Villages to support their operations adequately.  It is hoped that all the Digital Villages will be able to obtain the required capacity for their (near) optimal operations.

Eligibility of Bandwidth supplier:
1.Supply of similar quantity of Internet bandwidth directly to companies or institutions under license by Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) or other communications regulators in the East African region
2.Supplier has the required Internet bandwidth available within the required period of 10 weeks from the date contract is awarded.
3 .Supplier has experience of at least 5 years as an Internet bandwidth provider.
4.Supplier has operational service level agreements with other operators and/or customers
5.Manufacturer's Authorizations for Information Technologies - except for those technologies which the Bidder itself manufactures

Payment for International Satellite Bandwidth will be
i) 3 Month (quarterly) Advance payment for the Bandwidth
ii)3 Monthly (quarterly) payments thereafter based on the billing

Payment for Installation & Configuration Services will be:
i)Advance Payment:  Ten (10) percent of the total Contract Price shall be paid within thirty (30) days of signing of the Contract against a bank guarantee for the equivalent amount and in the form provided in the bidding documents or another form acceptable to the Purchaser.
ii)On completion of the installation:  Eighty (80) percent of the Total Contract Price shall be paid on completion of installation and upon submission of the documents specified in GCC Clause 13.
iii)Upon Commissioning:  The remaining ten (10) percent of the Services Total Contract Price shall be paid to the Supplier within thirty (30) days after the date of the acceptance certificate for the network.
